Course packages and fees
These are the packages and fees shown on our current registration form.
| Package | Fee | Suits you if… |
|---|---|---|
| Swim2u In-house Swimming Instructor Course + React Right (CPR & AED) | S$900 | You want the lowest-cost entry and an in-house certificate (not an SSI certification) |
| SSI Swim Teacher Level 1 + React Right | S$1,300 | You want an entry-level SSI swim-teacher certification |
| SSI Swim Teacher Level 1 & 2 + React Right | S$1,600 | You want the full core SSI pathway – our most common choice |
| SSI Swim Teacher Level 1 & 2 + Adults + React Right | S$2,000 | You also plan to teach adult beginners |
| SSI Swim Teacher Level 1 & 2 + Adults + Babies + React Right | S$2,500 | You want to cover children, adults and parent-and-baby classes |
Specialist courses taken on their own
If you already hold SSI Swim Teacher Level 1, Level 2 and React Right, you can take a specialist course separately. The SSI Swim Teacher Adult registration form lists S$1,300. For the SSI Swim Teacher Baby course on its own, please WhatsApp us for the current fee before registering. Both need you to be 18 or older.
Why the bundles cost less: adding Adults to the core package costs S$400 more (S$1,600 → S$2,000), while the Adult course alone is S$1,300. If you are fairly sure you will teach adults, deciding at the start is usually cheaper.
What the course fee includes
- Classroom and pool training sessions for your package (for the core pathway: one theory session, two pool sessions and React Right, each 2 hours)
- React Right CPR & AED training, where the package includes it
- Ten supervised attachments with a mentor, and the assessment
- The SSI Swim Teacher certification for the level you complete, once you pass (in-house certificate for the in-house course)
- A set of sinking toys to use as a teaching aid (core course)
Costs that are not included
| Item | Amount | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Digital-kit registration (Adult and Baby specialist courses) | S$90, one time | Payable after your final assessment; not part of the course fee |
| Late rescheduling | S$80 | If you change a session date with less than one day’s notice |
| Certification renewal | Set by SSI | Ask us about any renewal or active-status fees for your certification |
You also cover your own travel, swimwear and goggles. If you already hold a valid CPR & AED certification, you can choose to skip the React Right session on the form (proof required); ask us whether this changes the fee for your package.
Schedule and venue
Sessions run on weekday evenings, 7:30–9:30pm, at Commerze@Irving, Level 3 swimming pool, near Tai Seng MRT. For the core pathway you pick one theory session (Tuesday), one pool session (Wednesday), one React Right session (Tuesday) and one additional pool session (Thursday) from the monthly intake dates on the registration form. The Adult course currently runs on Wednesday evenings, schedule to be confirmed.

Conditional course-fee reimbursement
Our SSI international certification course page publishes a reimbursement arrangement for graduates who go on to teach with the affiliated swim school:
- Complete the course, all ten attachments and the assessment.
- If you are assigned swimming lessons, you are paid at the standard coach rate for each lesson taught – published as S$35–S$70 per 30- or 45-minute lesson – with the rate reviewed after 160 hours based on performance.
- After you complete 160 coaching hours, your course fee is reimbursed in full. There is no time limit for completing the 160 hours.
This is not a free course and not an automatic refund. You pay upfront, and reimbursement only happens if lessons are assigned and you actually teach the 160 hours. Assignments depend on your assessment, suitability, locations and availability, and are not guaranteed.
Questions worth asking before you rely on it: which packages qualify; how hours are counted (for example, whether a 45-minute lesson counts as 0.75 hours); which areas and time slots currently need coaches; and how the reimbursement is paid. Ask for the answers in writing.
Check these before you pay
- The exact certification you will receive, and who issues it
- That you meet the prerequisites (age, two strokes; for Adult/Baby, completed Level 1, 2 and React Right)
- Your session dates and the completion deadline
- The total payable, including any S$90 digital-kit fee
- Whether your intended employer or venue accepts the certification
Swimming instructor course fees: frequently asked questions
How much is a swimming instructor course in Singapore?
At Swimming Teachers Academy, packages range from S$900 (Swim2u in-house course with React Right) to S$2,500 (SSI Level 1 & 2 + Adults + Babies + React Right). SSI Level 1 & 2 with React Right is S$1,600.
Are there any hidden costs?
The costs outside the course fee are listed above: a one-time S$90 digital-kit fee for the Adult and Baby specialist courses, an S$80 fee for rescheduling with less than a day’s notice, and any SSI renewal fees.
Can I pay in instalments?
Not at the moment. There are no instalment plans or financial-assistance options.
Can I get a refund if I change my mind?
No. Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. The only reimbursement is the conditional arrangement after 160 coaching hours described above.
Is the S$900 in-house course the same as SSI certification?
No. It leads to an in-house certificate using Swim2u’s teaching approach. If an employer asks for an SSI qualification, choose an SSI package.
